Transportation Candidate Screening Specialist – CDL Background & Experience Review

Truck Driver Nation is looking for a Transportation Candidate Screening Specialist to conduct preliminary reviews of CDL driver applicants.

This role concentrates on understanding a driver's professional background before the candidate is moved toward a specific transportation opportunity.

CANDIDATE REVIEW

The Screening Specialist may review information involving:

• CDL class and endorsements
• Tractor-trailer experience
• Equipment experience
• Recent driving history
• Previous employers
• Preferred operating area
• Home-time expectations
• Type of driving position requested

• The purpose of the review is not to make a carrier's final hiring decision. It is to create an accurate candidate profile that can be used during the recruiting process.

  RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct preliminary applicant screening
• Review information supplied by CDL candidates
• Ask follow-up questions when information is incomplete
• Document driver experience accurately
• Identify potential qualification issues requiring further review
• Maintain candidate notes and status information
• Route completed candidate profiles to the appropriate recruiting stage
• Communicate professionally with driver applicants

• QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong interviewing and communication ability
• Ability to organize employment information
• Comfortable reviewing multiple candidate records
• Accurate computer and data-entry skills
• Recruiting, trucking, logistics, compliance, or staffing experience is helpful
• Familiarity with CDL terminology is preferred

• CARRIER REQUIREMENTS

  Individual motor carriers establish their own final qualification and hiring requirements.

  The Screening Specialist helps gather and organize candidate information but does not replace the applicable carrier's hiring or safety review.
