Legacy's model combines academics, nutrition, physical fitness, and mental health. POSITION OVERVIEW The Assistant Transportation Supervisor supports the daily execution of the transportation program. This individual is responsible for the immediate supervision of drivers, ensuring that all routes are covered and that safety protocols are followed to the letter. This role requires a "player-coach" mentality--ready to step into a bus and drive a route at a moment's notice while maintaining high administrative standards. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Daily Operations & Dispatch: Lead the morning (AM) and afternoon (PM) bus "rollout." Assign substitute drivers to open routes and manage the radio dispatch to handle real-time traffic or mechanical issues. · Timesheet Management: Review daily punches/hours to ensure drivers are punching in/out accurately. · Safety & Training: Assist in conducting "check-rides" (observing drivers on their routes) to ensure safety compliance. Assist in training new hires on LEC-specific routes and student behavior expectations. · Field Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and Campus Deans regarding bus delays, stops, or minor student discipline issues. · Compliance Tracking: Monitor and record pre-trip and post-trip inspection logs to ensure all vehicles are "road-ready" and compliant with SCDE (SC Department of Education) standards. · Backup Driver: Maintain a valid CDL license to serve as an emergency backup driver for routes, athletic trips, or college tours when staffing shortages occur. Qualifications · High School Diploma (Associate degree preferred). · Valid CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements. · Clean driving record and ability to pass all SCDE-mandated physicals and background checks. · Proficiency in basic technology (UKG for time-tracking, GPS software, and Google Suite). Work Schedule This position operates on the twelve-month schedule based on the Legacy Early College centralized calendar. Compensation & Benefits ?
