Position Title: Transportation Administrative AssistantDepartment: TransportationEvaluation Instrument: Pay Grade: Classified Salary ScalePay Type: HourlyRetirement: TRSContract Work Year: 240 Days, 8 Hours Per DayReports to: Transportation Director or SuperintendentMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS HS Diploma or Associate Degree Prior Administrative Experience preferred(Will be required to have or obtain CDL license)GOAL To Support safe, efficient, and compliant daily student transportation operations.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Performs clerical duties including telephone, reception, typing/computing, filing, record keeping activities to include computerization of recordsCompletes computerized leave records on each employee monthlyProcesses orders for purchase of supplies, services, parts and equipmentMaintains a current inventory of supplies, parts and equipmentSets up and maintains a system for the receipt and issuance of parts and suppliesObtains and studies comparative prices and quotationsPrepares transportation/maintenance time records on a monthly basis for payroll clerkMaintains data entry of repair orders for school bus fleetSchedules and secures substitute bus driversOther specific record-keeping responsibilities:Maintains files to insure current drivers' license status for all driversSchedules drivers' annual and initial physicalsDevelops and submits to superintendent's office, maintenance and transportation records monthlyFills out and routes work order request for maintenance and vehicle repairs and servicesChecks invoices for maintenance and bus shop for accuracy Monitors fuel oil deliveries and daily reportingMaintains favorable relations with bus drivers, vendors and parents.Works cooperatively with the Transportation Director and Bus Shop ForemanFiling all bus conduct forms that is wrote up each day on all kids on all busesPerforms other duties as may be assigned by supervisors Revised: 2024
