What You"ll Do

As a Transmission Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, design, and execution of transmission line projects while providing technical guidance and project leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, and construction package documentation.
  • Lead and coordinate engineers, designers, and technical staff to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Review and provide technical oversight for engineering studies, reports, and design packages.
  • Collaborate with contractors, permitting agencies, survey teams, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide construction support and field engineering assistance as required.
  • Apply best practices related to engineering quality, project execution, safety, and risk management.
  • Manage multiple project assignments while maintaining schedules, budgets, and design excellence.
  • Support the successful delivery of power transmission infrastructure projects from concept through commissioning.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor"s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred; Electrical Engineering candidates with relevant transmission experience will also be considered.
  • 4+ years of transmission line engineering experience (candidates with 8-20+ years of experience are encouraged to apply).
  • Experience with transmission line design for voltages ranging from 69 kV to 500 kV.
  • Strong understanding of transmission structures, conductors, hardware assemblies, framing plans, and material specifications.
  • Experience preparing engineering drawings, structure detailing, and bills of material.
  • Knowledge of applicable industry standards and codes, including:
  • ASCE
  • ACI
  • IEEE
  • NESC
  • RUS
  • GO-95

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with the PLS software suite, including:

  • PLS-CADD

  • PLS-POLE

  • PLS-TOWER

  • Experience with:

  • L-Pile

  • MFAD

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience integrating survey and GIS data into transmission line models.

  • Familiarity with electrical studies, including:

  • Grounding

  • EMF analysis

  • Fault current studies

  • Clearance analysis

  • Contaminant assessments

  • Understanding of geotechnical reports, foundation design, and embedment calculations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $46.00 - $74.00/hr.
