A leading middle-market investment bank, private equity firm, or advisory platform may seek a Transaction Sourcing Analyst to support deal origination, transaction sourcing, and pipeline development efforts. This role is well-suited for candidates interested in front-end deal generation, market research, target identification, and relationship-driven deal flow, with exposure to senior bankers, investors, and founders.
Identify and research potential acquisition targets, sellers, and transaction opportunities across defined sectors
Support deal sourcing and origination strategies, including market mapping and target list development
Conduct company, industry, and market research to assess transaction fit and attractiveness
Track and manage the deal pipeline, including sourced opportunities, outreach status, and engagement progress
Assist with outbound and inbound deal outreach, including preparation of introductory materials and follow-ups
Prepare high-level financial analyses, comparable company summaries, and investment rationales
Support preparation of teasers, pitch decks, and internal screening materials for sourced opportunities
Maintain CRM systems and internal databases with accurate sourcing and pipeline data
Collaborate with senior bankers, investment professionals, and execution teams to transition sourced deals into active engagements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field
Strong interest in deal origination, private markets, M&A, and investment sourcing
Solid analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative information
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Prior internship or experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, consulting, or sales-driven finance roles is a plus
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems, and financial research tools (e.g., PitchBook, Capital IQ, Crunchbase)
