About Us: The Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking (CAST) is a Los Angeles–based nonprofit organization that is working to put an end to human trafficking through comprehensive, life-changing services to survivors and a platform to advocate for groundbreaking policies and legislation. Over the past two decades, CAST has supported thousands of survivors through every phase of their journey to freedom- from counseling to legal resources to housing, educational and leadership training, and mentorship. Summary of Position
The Training Specialist is responsible for supporting the production, presentation, coordination, and maintenance of CAST delivered trainings within Los Angeles County on the topics of minors and youth impacted by human trafficking which includes sex trafficking, labor trafficking, and forced criminality through the lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This training program ensures alignment with Los Angeles County's Five-Year Strategic Plan that aligns with public health principles and integrated lived experience perspectives. This position plays a key role training social workers, probation, law enforcement, mental health, public health, educators, and community-based organizations in the development and implementation of trauma-informed best practice approaches when working with youth, including but not limited to, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and resilience building strategies.
