Akkodis is seeking a Training Manager for a Contract job with a client in Normal, IL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, technical instruction, and workforce development, along with a passion for developing training programs that enhance technician capabilities.

Rate Range: $48/hour to $50/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Training Manager Job Responsibilities Include:

• Lead the delivery of technical training programs focused on mechatronics, industrial automation, controls systems, and technical trades development for manufacturing personnel.

• Design, develop, and maintain training curricula covering PLC programming, SCADA systems, HMI platforms, industrial automation technologies, and controls engineering concepts.

• Develop and facilitate hands-on training modules for robotic systems, including controller setup, programming fundamentals, automation workflows, and practical laboratory exercises.

• Design, build, and maintain interactive training environments, simulated automation systems, and instructional fixtures that support experiential learning and technical skill development.

• Coach internal trainers and facilitators on adult learning methodologies, training delivery techniques, and standardized work instructions to support sustainable workforce development.

Desired Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, Associate degree, technical certification, registered apprenticeship completion, or equivalent experience in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.

• A minimum of five years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, technical trades, manufacturing operations, or automation-focused workforce development.

• Demonstrated experience developing and delivering technical training programs for adult learners in industrial, manufacturing, or technical environments.

• Strong technical expertise in programmable logic controllers (PLCs), including experience with Rockwell Automation, Beckhoff, and related industrial control platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing training programs for SCADA, HMI, industrial controls, automation systems, and modern manufacturing technologies.

• Familiarity with Ignition SCADA, industrial HMI platforms, ePLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar engineering and automation software solutions.

• Knowledge of industrial networking technologies including EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, IO-Link, Profinet, and other manufacturing communication protocols.

• Experience delivering training related to OSHA regulations, NFPA standards, electrical safety procedures, and industrial equipment safeguarding requirements.

• Certifications related to automation, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, technical instruction, SACA, NC3, or workforce development are highly desirable.

Pay Details: $48.00 to $50.00 per hour
