## Job Description

The training manager is responsible for communicating training policies and procedures across the organization and for overall coordination and management of training activities and trainers. The training manager is responsible for the overall implementation of your Epic end user training programs as well as ongoing education and maintenance of the training program after go live.

They are responsible for:

  • Determining required training resources.
  • Directing and managing training team staffing.
  • Securing facilities and equipment for classroom training.

In addition, the training manager:

  • Decides curriculum delivery methods.
  • Oversees the creation and maintenance of a realistic training environment.
  • Creates a course catalog and training schedule.
  • Ensures all users are trained before they access the production environment.

Pay Range: $130,000 - $140,000 per year Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training experience, education, and where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

## Responsibilities

### Administration and Planning

  • Securing and maintaining a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Communicating with project leadership about training milestones, policies, and decisions.
  • Designing the course offerings and course catalog in the LMS.
  • Securing training rooms, workstations, printers, and other equipment needed for classroom trainings.
  • Creating an efficient schedule for classroom training.
  • Managing the Epic training environment.
  • Preparing for the creation and build of the training environment.
  • Providing support and troubleshooting issues that arise.
  • Developing a training strategy which includes coordinating the training environments, refreshing schedules, and developing playground and practice environments.

### Managing the Training Team

  • Recruiting staffing and hiring principal trainers for functional trainings staff.
  • Developing and executing the credentialed trainer program to onboard classroom trainers.
  • Managing principal trainers and training team tasks.
  • Managing the physician training program.
  • Assessing risks and issues associated with the training program.
  • Developing training program.
  • Determining the types of curriculum delivery methods (e.g., instructor-led classes, eLearning, and blended) that will be used during super user training and end user training.
  • Setting training requirements for end user system access and getting buy-in on this decision from project and operational leadership.
  • Developing post-live training for new hires, refresher training, optimization, upgrade training, etc.
  • Acting as a change management and transition champion.
  • Creating and executing an overall vision for the training program, including requesting support from project leadership.
  • Outlining and forming additional educational plans as desired by the organization.
  • Generating strong super user engagement during and after go-live.
  • Transitioning from implementation to maintaining training after go-live.

### Long Term Training Management and Leadership

  • Planning and executing a successful training program after the Epic system go-live.
  • Creating a series of refresher training classes immediately following go-live.
  • Overseeing skills enhancement training.
  • Collaborating to develop Epic-specific training for new employees.
  • Planning how to deliver new information about the system to end users before upgrades.

## Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years training management experience.
  • Application fundamentals classes at Epic.
  • TED100: Overview of Training for Training Managers.
  • Additional required and recommended classes and training tracks.

### Required

  • Ability to work onsite with project team as needed.
  • Travel: 10-15%.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Certified Project Manager (CPM).
  • English Required.
