TITLE: Training Coordinator
COMPANY OF ASSIGNMENT: Kentucky Department for Public Health
PURPOSE: This position is located within the Kentucky Department for Public Health's (KDPH)

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Branch Manager, KDPHHourly $30.30Annual Salary $59,085.00
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
PROBATIONARY PERIOD: This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6months.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Responsible for specific duties as assigned, e.g.
a. Facilitate internal and external advisory committees to assess statewide overdoseprevention needs, identify service gaps, and inform strategies to support carenavigators.
c. Serve as Event Manager for annual statewide overdose prevention trainingevents, including planning, coordination, and logistics and evaluation.
d. Develop, implement, and facilitate a statewide Local Health Department overdoseprevention mentorship program to strengthen workforce capacity and promotebest practices.
i. Assist the KDPH Public Health Educator with data analysis, visualization, andcontent development for newsletters, reports, presentations, and othereducational materials.
j. Assist with the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement ofKDPH's naloxone saturation strategic plan.
k. Utilize information technology systems to collect, manage, analyze, and reportpublic health data, identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and informpolicies, operational processes, and strategic planning for KDPH.
Standard: Assigned duties are completed correctly within specified timeframe.Measure: Supervisor's review of staff documentation of assigned duties / completion dates.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
Experience, Training, or Skills: Four years of professional full-time experience inadministration, project management, public health, or health program administration.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master’s degree in public health; or a health relatedfield will substitute for two years of required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Professional experience in health programadministration, public health, public health project management will substitute for education on ayear-for-year basis.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): None• Special Knowledge and Skills: This position requires excellent oral and written communication• skills, excellent technical report writing and public presentation skills, excellent interpersonal skills,• and the ability to facilitate groups. Must be highly organized with ability to prioritize work, ability• to collect, organize and evaluate information for reporting needs. Certified Health Education• Specialist (CHES®) certification preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is typically in both an office and in a field setting. Travel isrequired. Workdays and hours vary and are based upon needs for services.
LIST OF EQUIPMENT NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THEJOB: General Office Equipment – computer, calculator, fax machine, copier, telephone, printer,and access to the internet for online system.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / JOB HAZARDS:• 1. Current TB skin test indicating no evidence of communicable disease.• 2. Possible physical management (lifting, balancing, maneuvering).• Additional Requirements:• This position requires a clean drug screen prior to and randomly throughout employment.• Must possess a valid driver’s license.• Background checks conducted prior to hire and updated annually.• Some local and out of state travel opportunities for training, conferences, workshops, etc.• Position may require variations in hours to meet project deadlines to include overtime.• Required to maintain a valid driver's license and required to drive a licensed vehicle.
