Luther Manor is seeking a Training and Development Educator
The Training & Development Educator is responsible for the development, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of clinical education and professional development for nursing staff across the Life Plan Community continuum, including skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, and other residential care settings. This position ensures clinical competency, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based practice while supporting safe, high-quality, resident-centered care.
The Educator serves as a clinical leader, resource, mentor, and change agent, supporting onboarding, ongoing education, competency validation, quality improvement initiatives, and professional growth of nursing staff in alignment with Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act standards and applicable DHS regulations
Essential Job Functions:
- Collaborates with relevant partners at all levels to design, implement, and evaluate comprehensive education programs for team members aligned with current evidence-based practice and organizational standards.
- Supports orientation/onboarding initiatives through development of resources, maintaining effective communication around process, and providing touchpoints with new hires and their trainers.
- Develop, implement, and maintain operational competency validation processes for team members, including but not limited to annual skills assessments and task-specific competencies.
- Assess learning needs, identify gaps in practice, and implement targeted education plans to address performance or quality concerns.
- Collaborate with departmental leadership, quality, and infection prevention teams to support quality improvement initiatives, risk reduction, and resident safety programs.
- Conducts regular employee audits and reports data for QAA.
- Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
- Participate in root cause analyses, audits, and performance improvement projects, using education as a key intervention to improve outcomes.
- Serve as a clinical mentor and resource for nursing staff, supporting professional growth, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support a culture of learning, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media and company's computer-based learning portal, Relias LMS.
- Modifies programs as needed to ensure they are aligned with the organization's strategic goals.
- Works with Training and Development Manager and Human Resources to understand current business needs and propose training solutions.
- Works effectively as a team member with other members of the Training and Development team and the HR staff.

- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of current Microsoft Office Suites including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access. Office 2011 or newer required.
- Knowledge of diverse learning styles visual, auditory, read/write and kinesthetic.
- Strong knowledge in Written, Verbal, and Digital Communication, Interpersonal Communication, Problem Solving, Critical Thinking, Planning Skills, Time Management, Attention to Detail, Decision Making.
- Must demonstrate sound judgment and emotional maturity when dealing with physicians, residents, families, volunteers, visitors, and staff.
- Familiarity with a learning management tool or learning management system preferred.
- Ability to work scheduled hours outside of normal business hours based on organizational need.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment required in setting priorities of tasks among multiple assigned projects
- Ability to modify own working style, approach, or methodology to fit new/changing circumstances.
- Ability to present information in an organized manner.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality consistent with expectations set by Human Resources.
- Ability to consistently exhibit resolve and problem-solving skills in a medically sensitive fast-paced environment.
- Currently Licensed to practice in the state of Wisconsin as a Registered Nurse preferred.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred.
- Wound Care Certification preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience designing and delivering employee development programs for an intermediate sized company, strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of DHS 132, DHS 50, DHS 83 and DHS 89 regulations.
- Knowledge and experience in supervision.
- Maintains current and up to date knowledge in the field of nursing, including dementia related care, nursing education, and human resources compliance.
- The mobility to spend the majority of work shift standing or moving about the facility.
- The physical strength to move or assist residents following the plan of care as required in emergency situations in all areas of the Luther Manor campus.
- Must be able to push, pull or lift 50 pounds.
- Follows Administrative Dress Code.
Supervision:
- Reports to the Training and Development Manager.
- Assists in supervision of Training and Development Trainer.
- Assists in supervision of newly hired employees during orientation/on-boarding period.
