Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Client Engagement and Coaching: 
    • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure members’ safety and needs are prioritized. 
    • Instruct clients one-on-one through individualized fitness programs based on their goals. 
    • Conduct introductory "Design Your Own Program" (DYOP) sessions and fitness assessments. 
    • Build and maintain a personal training client base through excellent service, referrals, and engagement. 
    • Monitor and assist members in proper equipment usage, ensuring safety and compliance with club policies.
  • Program Design and Tracking: 
    • Create and submit exercise programs tailored to each member’s experience, using the 4 Pillars of Fitness - Nutrition, Movement, Supplementation and Professional Assistance, in a manner consistent with their goals.   
    • Accurately track all client sessions and maintain detailed records, including supplement tracking forms.
    • Utilize PF-approved supplements and nutrition programs exclusively with clients.
  • Operational Responsibilities: 
    • Perform general equipment maintenance and inspections, report malfunctions to management. 
    • Maintain club cleanliness and participate in "Team Clean" during every shift. 
    • Assist front desk operations as needed, including member check-ins and point-of-sale tasks. 
    • PF PT’s must redeem (Data Trak series check-in) all funded sessions at time of performed service; unfunded sessions shall not be serviced.   
  • Team Collaboration: 
    • Educate team members about the personal training program to generate excitement and increase usage. 
    • Attend all required meetings, trainings, and seminars. 
    • Represent PF at community events and outreach activities as needed. 
  • Daily Contributions: 
    • Engage with members to promote loyalty to the personal training program. 
    • Walk the floor during unscheduled times, greeting members and recommending "Design Your Own Program" (DYOP) sessions to those who need assistance.

Qualifications: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Active Personal Training Certification (NCCA-accredited) or Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or kinesiology. 
  • CPR/AED certification required (must renew proactively before expiration). 
  • Proven ability to lead small group sessions and inspire clients. 
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills. 
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office. 
  • Familiarity with PF’s mission, values, and operational requirements. 
  • Physical capability to lift/move up to 45+ pounds and perform tasks like squatting, bending, and prolonged standing. 

                 

                Supervisory Role: This position reports to the Fitness Manager.   

                Work Environment: Operates in a fitness club environment, routinely using office and custodial equipment. 

                • Noise levels may be high, and physical activity is frequent. 
                • Expected to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
                • Some travel is required for this position. 

                  Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that a Team Player must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

                  • Regularly required to talk or hear.  
                  • Frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. 
                  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  
                  • Must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 100 pounds.  
                  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 

                        Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full or part-time nonexempt position. A nonexempt Team Player is one who is entitled to the minimum wage and/or overtime pay protections of the FLSA.  

                        Standard workdays and hours can vary depending on client needs. This position may work nights and weekends. 

                        PF PT’s shall not pursue training non-members or members outside of a PF facility and may only be employed as a PT at PF; conducting personal training, selling personal training packages and/or soliciting personal training not affiliated with PF will not be tolerated and will be subject to immediate termination of employment.  

                        Travel: Up to 10%  travel is expected for this position. Must be willing to travel based on company need to all locations. Overnight trips may be necessary.
