    Description

    Performs Countywide technical field and bench work involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of solid-state traffic signal control devices. Troubleshoots and repairs problems found in equipment that malfunctioned in the field; installs school flashers, pedestrian signals, signalized stop-and-go intersections, luminaires/street lights powered by electricity, and solar-powered equipment. Responds to traffic signal repair trouble calls that are handled as emergencies. This coverage is on a 24-hour basis, and complies within a response time of minutes.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:

    • Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification supplemented by coursework in Electronics; minimum of two (2) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic devices,

    OR

    • Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of two (3) years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic devices.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Preferred qualifications include (must specify on application):

    • Training or experience in micro-processor computer operation and maintenance, and
    • Possession of International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Level II and/or III Traffic Signal Technician Certification(s).
