    Job Description

    Atlas is seeking a Traffic Signal Technician to support traffic signal maintenance and operations within GDOT District 7 in the Atlanta metropolitan area. In this role, you will help keep transportation systems operating safely and efficiently by maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting critical traffic signal infrastructure.

    You will work closely with project partners, contractors, and transportation stakeholders while helping ensure traffic control systems remain reliable for the communities they serve.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair traffic signals, traffic control devices, and related equipment.
    • Operate and perform preventive maintenance on equipment used for signal installation and maintenance activities.
    • Upload, download, program, and support traffic signal controllers and associated system components.
    • Monitor and inspect contractor work to verify quality, compliance, and completion of signal-related projects.
    • Support documentation, reporting, and coordination activities associated with maintenance and field operations.
    • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to traffic signal malfunctions and service needs outside regular business hours.

    Youll thrive here if you have

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Three or more years of experience in traffic signal installation, maintenance, or repair.
    • Working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Electrical Code (NEC), and traffic control standards.
    • Experience working with traffic signal controllers and traffic signal systems.
    • Familiarity with MUTCD standards and traffic control practices.
    • Valid Georgia driver's license or ability to obtain and maintain required driving credentials.
    • Ability to safely lift equipment and materials and perform work at elevated heights when required.
    • Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
