Position Overview Transportation Division/Traffic Engineering and ITS Market Sector of HDR is actively seeking a Section Leader and Senior Traffic/ITS Engineer to work in our downtown San Diego office. The role requires a strong background in traffic engineering, transportation planning, and ITS projects, with experience in emerging traffic technologies. The successful candidate will lead a production section, oversee traffic operations analysis, drive project delivery, and serve as a technical expert on large-scale initiatives.Key Responsibilities Oversee operations of the production section, including staff development, profitability, and quality control.Function as project manager, taking responsibility for production of projects in addition to management duties.Coordinate administrative tasks for section staff and technical services, lead inter‑section services.Contribute to marketing planning, proposals, and client interactions.Ensure all work is planned, organized, controlled, and evaluated through proactive project management systems.Implement, monitor, and support company policy.Select, train, develop, and manage technical personnel.Manage and develop multidisciplinary teams.Collaborate with National Directors and marketing staff on local and national marketing and production efforts.Perform other duties as needed.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.A minimum of 7 years of experience.Professional registration, license, or certification may be required.Strong communication and listening skills.Ability to handle multiple assignments.Good leadership and organizational skills.Commitment to an employee‑owned culture.Benefits We provide a comprehensive benefits package that promotes employee ownership, health, performance, and success.
