Oxford Solutions is working with a civil engineering consulting client seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer for a full-time, direct hire opportunity. This onsite position involves traffic engineering design, transportation planning, and coordination of public and private infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Design traffic signals, roadway improvements, signing, and pavement marking plans.
- Conduct traffic impact, safety, and parking studies.
- Prepare engineering calculations, construction plans, specifications, and permit applications.
- Support Highway Occupancy Permit (HOP) applications and utility coordination.
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Perform site visits and ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- 8+ years of traffic or transportation engineering experience.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Experience with traffic signal design, roadway design, and traffic studies.
- Proficiency with Synchro, HCS, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D.
- Familiarity with drainage, erosion and sediment control, and permitting processes.
- Strong technical writing, communication, and project coordination skills.
