We are looking for someone who brings sound technical judgment, communicates well, and is interested in continuing to grow professionally. Position DetailsFull-time position based out of our Allentown officeMonday through Friday scheduleFlexibility in work schedules, with limited remote work opportunities based on position, project and team needsPaid overtimeLocal travel for field investigations, project sites, and client, municipal, or agency meetings Why Join KCE?Local company with more than 50 years of experience serving our communitiesWork-life balance is a core value at KCECompetitive hourly pay based on experience, plus paid overtimeOpportunities to take on meaningful work and greater responsibilityFlexible schedules, remote work possibilities, and a casual, down-to-earth work environmentComprehensive medical plan options, including HDHP/HSA and traditional plansEmployer-paid life and disability insurance with voluntary life optionsDental and vision coverage401(k) with company match, including Traditional and Roth optionsPaid vacation, sick days, and nine paid holidaysPaid parental leaveFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Tuition Reimbursement ProgramCompany events and team-building activities What You Will DoAs a Traffic Engineer on our team, you will help develop practical, data-informed transportation solutions while supporting the quality and responsiveness our clients expect.Conduct traffic impact studies, safety analyses, capacity analyses, and traffic flow evaluations for municipal and private-sector projects.Prepare technical reports, plans, specifications, and supporting documentation for highway and traffic engineering projects.Evaluate traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, parking restrictions, sight distance, and speed limits.Perform traffic operations analyses using Synchro, HCS, Vissim, or similar software.Develop and evaluate traffic signal designs, warrant studies, and signal timing plans.Conduct field investigations and site visits to collect data and confirm existing conditions.Prepare traffic control plans, construction cost estimates, proposals, and project schedules assigned.Participate in client, municipal, agency, and public meetings and help address technical or community concerns.Coordinate with civil engineers, surveyors, inspectors, planners, and other members of the project team.Support projects through review, approval, bidding, and construction as assigned. What You BringWe are looking for someone who combines solid traffic engineering experience with analytical thinking, attention to detail, practical problem-solving skills, and a collaborative approach. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited program.Three or more years of relevant traffic or transportation engineering experience.Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred; Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain one is a plus.Proficiency with traffic analysis software such as Synchro, HCS, Vissim, or similar programs.Familiarity with applicable local, state, and federal transportation standards and regulations.Ability to work effectively in both field and office settings and travel locally as project needs require.Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate project documentation.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Sound judgment, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. Please NoteThis position is based out of our Allentown, PA office.
