Job Title: Traffic Control Supervisor

Job Location: Byram, MS Office

We’re looking for a Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) to support our highway and paving projects in Mississippi. Please send candidates who have hands-on experience managing traffic control on active road construction projects, including lane closures and night work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee traffic control setups in accordance with project plans and approved traffic control plans.
• Coordinate lane closures, signs, devices, flaggers, and traffic control crews with the superintendent, paving crews, subcontractors, and MDOT personnel.
• Inspect work zones, correct deficiencies promptly, and maintain required inspection records.
• Manage traffic control across all operations on the assigned project, including subcontractor work.

Requirements

• Current Traffic Control Supervisor certification accepted by MDOT. Please include a copy and the certification date with each candidate’s résumé.
• Experience supervising traffic control on highway construction projects; MDOT project experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of work zone plans, the MUTCD, and MDOT traffic control requirements.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel to projects across Mississippi as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work safely around live traffic.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience & Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or courses in business administration, accounting, or automotive/diesel shop management is a plus.
• 1–2 years of experience in a clerical or bookkeeping role, with direct experience working in an equipment shop, fleet dealership, or construction maintenance facility highly preferred.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen with a “Negative” result.
• Must be able to complete a post- offer physical with a “Capable” result
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
• Experience preferred Work Environment:

This role operates in both office and active construction site environments. Candidate must be able to perform site walks, attend field meetings, and ensure on-site safety and compliance.
