Trade Services Operations Specialist 

 

A leading financial services organization is seeking a Trade Services Operations Specialist to support its Securities Operations and Trade Services team. This position will assist with the day-to-day processing and administration of Letters of Credit, trade documentation, and document collections supporting domestic and international trade activity.

The ideal candidate has experience within banking, trade services, securities operations, or financial operations and understands the importance of accuracy when reviewing and processing financial documents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily Trade Services and Securities Operations activities
  • Receive, organize, and process documentation related to Letters of Credit
  • Review Letters of Credit and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and authenticity
  • Assist with document collections and trade processing
  • Open and organize incoming trade documentation packages
  • Scan, capture, and maintain documentation within internal trade systems
  • Distribute and send documents according to established processing instructions
  • Maintain complete and accurate records throughout the trade-processing lifecycle
  • Support documentation related to the movement, import, and export of goods
  • Research and assist with escalated operational questions
  • Communicate with internal business partners regarding documentation and processing needs
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, procedures, and tools
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and in accordance with established procedures and controls

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Securities Operations, Trade Services, banking operations, or related financial operations experience, or equivalent experience through work, education, training, consulting, or military service
  • Experience working with Letters of Credit
  • Ability to review financial/trade documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Experience with document collection and processing
  • Understanding of trade services and the basic flow of import/export and bank-to-bank documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with document-intensive processes
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, highly regulated environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience within a banking Trade Services or Trade Finance environment
  • Familiarity with import/export documentation and the movement of goods
  • Experience using SharePoint
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with trade processing or document-management systems

Schedule & Location

This position is 100% onsite, five days per week in downtown Minneapolis, MN. Candidates must be comfortable working onsite Monday through Friday.
