About Our Client

Our client is a well-known consumer goods company located in White Plains. The team are in the office twice a week.

Job Description

Obtain, validate, organize, and retain supplier documentation proving the origin of materials used by the organization to produce finished goods. Ensure cross-border import and export activities strictly follow applicable international and domestic trade laws. Lead the collection and validation of supplier Certificates of Origin, affidavits, declarations, product classification support, and other origin evidence for materials used for finished goods. Establish a complete audit-ready repository that supports USMCA preferential duty treatment and demonstrates compliance with applicable rules of origin. Reduce the organization's exposure to customs penalties, fines, duty assessments, interest, and legal risk by closing supplier documentation gaps.

The Successful Applicant

Hands-on professional with deep trade compliance knowledge, strong supplier relationship management, negotiation capability, conflict resolution skills, and the ability to quickly mobilize internal and external stakeholders. Bachelor's degree required in e.g. Supply Chain Management, International Business, International Trade, Business Administration, Economics, Legal Studies, Law, or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in international trade, export controls, customs operations, trade compliance, import/export compliance, or customs audit support. Practical experience navigating complex regulatory frameworks and managing global logistics requirements. Experience with USMCA and/or NAFTA rules of origin, country-of-origin documentation, supplier certification programs, and preferential duty treatment claims. Experience reviewing HS/HTS classifications and customs documentation. Experience working with suppliers, distributors, manufacturers, customs brokers, and cross-functional internal teams. Experience in a manufacturing, consumer products, personal care, pharmaceutical, CPG, or regulated-industry environment preferred.

What's on Offer

6 month contract starting ASAP. Hybrid in White Plains twice a week (special allowances for exceptional candidates based further afield). Pay rate: industry average. Spearhead an essential project for this organization.
