HIGH-LEVEL OVERVIEW The Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for corporate import & export compliance program, serving as the primary point of contact for all regulatory trade matters while ensuring compliance with CBP and PGA rules and regulations
This is an in-office position based in the Houston, TX area.
EXPECTATIONS
· Develop trade policy procedures including compliance governance measures
· Lead internal trade compliance audits and risk assessments, implement corrective action plans
· Assign and maintain HTS classifications and Country of Origin determinations
· Establish & validate customs valuation methodologies, ensuring proper reporting to CBP
· Maximize duty savings through Free Trade Agreement (FTA) qualification programs such as USMCA
· Manage customs brokers with clear expectations for accurate and timely customs clearance
· Administer daily FTZ operations, including admissions, inventory control, and CBP reconciliations
· Oversee TIB entries, with adherence to statutory export windows
· Manage the duty drawback program, partnering with finance and brokers to recover eligible duties
· Maintain audit-ready records of transactions and duty payments
· Lead a small team of trade compliance setting best in class practices and culture
ESSENTIALS
· 7+ years of experience in trade compliance with primary focus on imports
· License Customs Broker a plus
· Degree preferred
· In depth understanding of HTS classification, Country of Origin, valuation, and FTA qualification
· Knowledge of Export controls ECCN classification, restricted party screening, EEI filing, export licensing (EAR/ITAR)
· Ability to work in fast paced environment collaborating with cross functional partners
