Tow Operator — 1099 (Independent Contractor) — Overnight Shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM)

Overview
Parking & Towing Enforcement is looking for professional and dependable tow truck operators to handle roadside assistance calls and private property impounds (PPI). This role is well-suited for individuals who are comfortable operating commercial vehicles, and providing professional service in fast-paced environments. If you’re calm under pressure, safety-minded, and documentation-focused, we’d like to connect.


Responsibilities


  • Conduct private property impounds in accordance with state law and property authorization
  • Safely load and secure vehicles; use dollies and required safety equipment
  • Complete required photos and service documentation
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch, motorists, property staff, and law enforcement when needed
  • Identify vehicle makes, models, drivetrains, license plates, and VINs
Pay


  • Training pay (no towing experience): $100 per day
  • Earning potential after training: $70,000 – $110,000 per year, based on per-vehicle pay
  • Weekly payouts
Schedule


  • Overnight shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Weekends/holidays as needed
Requirements


  • Valid Texas Driver License
  • Clean driving record within the last 5 years
  • Ability to pass initial drug screening and random drug testing
  • Ability to pass state background checks conducted by law enforcement
  • Experience driving trailers, box trucks, or other commercial vehicles
  • Ability to pass required state tow operator license exam (training provided)
  • Must pass a towing skill test (hookups, dollies, clear and consistent documentation)
  • Able to lift 75 lbs and work outdoors at night
  • Basic knowledge of vehicles including makes, models, and drivetrains
  • Ability to work overnight hours reliably
Preferred


  • Veterans are encouraged to apply
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Prior towing or roadside assistance experience is a plus but not required
  • TDLR Tow Operator License (Private Property / Incident Management)
