The Iowa Clinic is seeking a Total Rewards Consultant to join our Human Resources team and play a key role in supporting compensation programs that drive employee engagement and organizational success.
In this highly visible role, you'll partner with leaders across the organization to provide compensation expertise, market insights, and strategic recommendations that ensure our pay practices remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with business needs.
What You'll Do
As a Total Rewards Consultant, you will:
- Serve as a trusted advisor on compensation matters, including job evaluations, market pricing, salary recommendations, promotions, and internal equity reviews
- Conduct compensation analyses and provide data-driven recommendations to support hiring, retention, and employee growth
- Maintain salary structures, pay grades, market positioning strategies, merit programs, and compensation adjustment processes
- Analyze market surveys, workforce trends, and internal compensation data to ensure our pay practices remain competitive
- Partner closely with HR, Talent Acquisition, Finance, Payroll, and business leaders to support informed compensation decisions
- Create, update, evaluate, and maintain job descriptions for new positions, promotions, and organizational changes
- Support HRIS compensation processes, reporting, audits, and data integrity initiatives
- Monitor compensation trends, pay transparency requirements, regulatory updates, and industry best practices
- Provide cross-functional support for benefits administration activities as needed
What You'll Bring

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered)
- 4 to 6 years of experience in compensation, total rewards, HR analytics, compensation administration, or related HR functions
- Strong understanding of compensation principles, salary structures, market benchmarking, internal equity, pay administration, and FLSA classifications
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate actionable recommendations
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with HRIS, payroll, or compensation management systems
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, confidentiality, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and partner with leaders at all levels
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or related certification preferred
- Experience with salary surveys, merit planning, pay transparency initiatives, or benefits administration is a plus
