Torque Management Controls Specialist

The Electrified Powertrain Controls Specialist serve as a technical leader within the PRC Electrified Propulsion Controls CoE, driving the development strategy, architecture, and delivery of advanced electrified powertrain systems.

The ideal candidate is a recognized expert in control systems with deep knowledge of electrified propulsion, capable of defining system-level strategies across multiple programs.

This role is responsible for defining control architectures, leading complex system integration, and driving innovation in areas such as torque coordination, energy optimization, thermal management, charging strategies, diagnostics, and advanced control approaches.

The most important activities assigned are:

Define control strategies and architecture at system/vehicle level

Lead development and integration across multiple programs (STLA, BEV, REEV, HEV)

Drive complex algorithm design and optimization

Ensure robustness through full V-cycle (MIL/SIL/HIL/vehicle)

Lead resolution of critical issues and crisis situations

Define standards, methods, and best practices

Drive innovation (advanced control, AI/optimization approaches)

Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and coaching

Interface with leadership and global stakeholders

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant engineering field
• 8 years of experience in controls/software engineering
• Recognized expertise in propulsion control systems
• Proven leadership in delivering production systems

Strong influence across organizations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Engineering
• Deep expertise in electrified powertrain systems and architectures
• Advanced control theory and system optimization
• Expert-level model-based development and embedded software
• End-to-end V-cycle ownership
• Extensive experience with validation, calibration, and diagnostics
• Strong system integration and vehicle-level performance understanding
• Technical authority and decision-making capability
• Ability to lead global, cross-functional teams
• Strong executive communication and reporting
• Ability to lead crisis resolution and production issues
• Strategic thinking and roadmap definition
