Torch Operator(Day Shift)

Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Pay: $21.30/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday

• Summer: 6:00 AM-2:30 PM
• Winter: 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

Job Overview

We are hiring for an entry-level position with a busy industrial metal recycling operation. This is a physically demanding, primarily outdoor position in a hot, dirty industrial environment.

Employees may perform a variety of duties including sorting materials, sweeping and cleanup, loading/unloading, machine operation, and other general labor tasks. The position will eventually involve working in a high-heat environment while wearing a protective suit.

New employees typically spend their first few days shadowing experienced employees and assisting with sorting, sweeping, and cleanup. During the first week, employees will be scheduled for a required physical/pressurized-air test before they can perform work requiring the protective suit.

Requirements

• Steel-toed boots required before starting
• Leather steel-toed boots strongly preferred due to the high-heat environment
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in hot conditions
• Must be comfortable wearing a protective suit
• Must not be claustrophobic
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must pass a background check and drug screen before starting
• Must be dependable and able to maintain the Monday-Friday schedule
