Tooling Technician

Requirements: 3+ years of aerospace tooling or precision machining experience; proficiency with laser trackers, GD&T blueprints, overhead gantry cranes, and hydraulic systems; High School diploma or technical degree; US person status (ITAR compliance). Perform root/cause analysis in support reliability processes, and collaborate with vendors, engineering, team leader, customer, other crafts and management to solve equipment problems and develop corrective action.

Our client, a Aeronautics and Space company, is looking for a Tooling Technician for their Kinston, NC location.
 
Responsibilities:

• Dismantles, moves, assembles, installs, and repairs industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions.
• Dismantles equipment and machines using hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools.
• Moves machinery and equipment using hoist, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
• Assembles and installs equipment such as conveyors and tram rails using hand and power tools.
• Constructs foundations; aligns machines; performs scheduled inspection and maintenance.
• Sets up and operates machine tools and fabrication machinery to rework or make new parts.
• Perform root/cause analysis in support reliability processes, and collaborate with vendors, engineering, team leader, customer, other crafts and management to solve equipment problems and develop corrective action.
• Rework and maintain tools of all types and materials. 
• Perform routine minor machine maintenance as part of their daily work duties (e.g. replacing machine filters, changing standard light bulbs on machines and equipment, maintaining lubrication/coolant levels etc., as related to basic tool preventative maintenance duties).
• Repairing and building lay-up tools.

 
Requirements:

• 3+ years of aerospace tooling or precision machining experience; proficiency with laser trackers, GD&T blueprints, overhead gantry cranes, and hydraulic systems; High School diploma or technical degree; US person status (ITAR compliance).
• Knowledge of station safety, quality (clean as you go / Foreign Object Debris) and OSHA regulations
• Must have basic skills of using a variety of tools
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to articulate complex issues to others.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters is essential.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in interpersonal skills.
• Technical Systems Proficiency:
• Able to enter, generate and retrieve information using a computer (SAP and Excel knowledge required)
• High School Diploma/GED or WorkKeys Assessment completion
• The ability to successfully complete the following training provided by Client after recruitment:

• General aircraft familiarization
• Quality Training
• Training from a vocational school or previous employer in the use of dismantling, moving, installing, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment.
