Job Title: Tooling Operator

Location: West Columbia, SC
Reports To: Tooling Manager

Work Schedule

  • Monday–Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

  • Friday: 5:30 AM – 2:00 PM


About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tooling Operator to join our team in West Columbia, SC. This role supports the Moonshine Shop operations by building, assembling, maintaining, and repairing production tools and equipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and experienced in a manufacturing or production environment.


What You’ll Do (Typical Day Responsibilities)

  • Read work orders and follow written instructions, drawings, and directions from management to build assemblies such as workstations, carts, and storage racks.

  • Perform intermediate-level assembly tasks using hand tools including drills, drivers, saws, and other standard shop tools.

  • Assist with rework and repair of previously built equipment to ensure quality and functionality standards are met.

  • Support preventive maintenance activities on production line equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.

  • Maintain and enforce 5S+1 workplace organization standards to promote a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

  • Organize, sort, inspect, and repair tooling, including hand tools and pneumatic air tools.

  • Operate bench and fabrication equipment such as miter saws, band saws, table saws, grinders, and polishers to fabricate sheet materials used in production.


What We’re Looking For

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience working with hand tools and equipment in a production or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret basic technical drawings and work instructions.

  • Experience using common shop and fabrication tools safely and effectively.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and workplace organization standards.
