Tool Room Attendant

Location: Houston, TX 77045
Pay Rate: $18.00–$25.00/hour DOE
Night Shift Differential: Additional 10%
Schedule: Day & Night Shifts Available

Position Overview

Apache Workforce is hiring Tool Room Attendants for a manufacturing environment in Houston. The Tool Room Attendant will be responsible for maintaining, organizing, and issuing tools and equipment to employees while keeping accurate records of tool locations, usage, maintenance, and inventory.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records of issued tools and monitor tool room inventory.

• Issue and receive tools and equipment while maintaining proper documentation.

• Receive and organize new tools and equipment.

• Track tool locations, repairs, and maintenance schedules.

• Coordinate and schedule preventative maintenance for tools and equipment.

• Maintain accurate inventory records and documentation.

• Assist with maintaining and enforcing workplace safety guidelines, procedures, and policies.

• File and maintain documentation required for reporting purposes.

• Assist employees with tool and equipment needs.

• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills.

• Basic computer skills for maintaining inventory and tool records.

• Ability to accurately track tools, equipment, repairs, and maintenance.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Ability to communicate effectively with employees and team members.

• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.

• Ability to understand and promote workplace safety guidelines.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.

• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred/required.

• Previous tool room, inventory, warehouse, maintenance, or manufacturing experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Work is performed primarily inside a manufacturing/shop environment.

• Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.

• Ability to stand for extended periods, as required by the position.

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, and crouch.

• Ability to frequently move or handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

• May perform repetitive motions and use hands and fingers regularly.

• Requires normal vision, including color recognition, depth perception, and adequate field of vision.

• Ability to use a computer terminal and perform extensive reading and recordkeeping.

• May work up to 10 hours per day and up to 6 days per week, depending on business needs.

• Safety glasses required in manufacturing areas.

• Earplugs/hearing protection recommended or required where applicable.

• Steel-toe boots and hard hat required in manufacturing facilities.
