Leonhardt Manufacturing is looking for a dependable, hands-on individual to assist in our Tool Room with general machining, tooling, and shop support activities.This is a part-time position and may be a good fit for someone currently enrolled in a technical or machining program who is looking to gain additional hands-on manufacturing experience.Schedule: Part-time, with scheduling flexibility based on availability between 5am-3:30pm, Mon-Thur.ResponsibilitiesAssist Tool Room personnel with general machining and tooling workOperate basic manual machining equipment under appropriate supervisionAssist with drilling, cutting, grinding, deburring, and other general machining operationsHelp fabricate, modify, and repair fixtures, tooling, and miscellaneous shop componentsMeasure parts using basic inspection and measuring toolsAssist with preventative maintenance and minor repairs on tooling and equipmentOrganize tooling, materials, and supplies within the Tool RoomMaintain a clean and orderly work areaHelp retrieve, move, and return tooling and materials as neededFollow company safety procedures and proper equipment operating practicesPerform other Tool Room and manufacturing support duties as assignedQualificationsInterest in machining, manufacturing, maintenance, or skilled tradesPrevious machining or shop experience is helpful but not requiredTechnical school coursework in machining, manufacturing, welding, maintenance, or a related field is a plusBasic mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power toolsAbility to read a tape measure and use basic measuring equipmentWillingness to learn and follow instructionsDependable with good attendanceAbility to work safely and independentlyPhysical DemandsThis position requires regular standing, walking, bending, reaching, and working around manufacturing equipment. The employee must be able to use hand and power tools, handle tooling and materials, and perform the physical tasks necessary to safely complete Tool Room work. The position may require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and is exposed to non-air-conditioned areas. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate where hearing protection is necessary based on OSHA requirements.
