Engineering Tooling Manager

Our client is a well-established precision manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Engineering Tooling Manager to lead the design, development, and optimization of tooling solutions that support customer requirements, improve operational efficiency, and drive continuous improvement across the business.

Job Description

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of tooling solutions for new and existing products.
  • Manage tooling projects from concept through implementation, ensuring quality, cost, and schedule objectives are achieved.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing efficiency, cycle time reduction, and tooling performance.
  • Collaborate with customers, engineering, production, and quality teams to develop tooling that meets technical specifications and production requirements.
  • Oversee tooling maintenance, refurbishment, and lifecycle management activities.
  • Evaluate and implement new tooling technologies, materials, and manufacturing methods.
  • Support new product introduction activities and ensure tooling readiness for production launches.
  • Develop tooling standards, best practices, and documentation to support scalable manufacturing processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop tooling and engineering personnel while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Analyze tooling-related performance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve productivity and reduce downtime.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Tool Design, or a related technical discipline.
  • Progressive experience in tooling engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous leadership or management experience overseeing engineering or tooling teams.
  • Strong knowledge of tool design, injection molding tooling, manufacturing processes, and process optimization.
  • Experience supporting new product development and product launches.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and engineering design principles.
  • Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
