Job Title: Tool & Die Design Engineer
Location: Onsite Wallingford CT
Type: Full Time Direct Hire
Salary: $80-120K DOE Plus Excellent Benefits

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM. Overtime may be required to support production demands and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop 2D and 3D models of progressive dies, jigs, fixtures, and other precision tooling using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to ensure designs meet specifications and are practical to manufacture.
- Provide technical support during tooling fabrication, assembly, testing, and implementation.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) requirements.
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to maximize tool performance, durability, and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and recommend design modifications to improve quality and productivity.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing process optimization.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of progressive die design experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and 2D/3D CAD design.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, engineering drawings, and precision tolerances.
- Knowledge of tooling design, materials, machining processes, and manufacturing methods.
- Ability to work collaboratively with machinists, engineers, and production personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience with 5-axis CNC machining is a plus.
