Tool Designer
We are seeking a talented Tool Designer to join a leading manufacturer in Cuyahoga Falls, OH. This is a full-time, direct hire position perfect for experienced professionals skilled in 2D and 3D design of plastic injection molds, dies, and tooling. You will work with cutting-edge equipment and a dedicated workforce, handling all aspects of the tool design process from initial layout and 3D concept through to final modeling and manufacturing releases. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines, primarily at a CAD workstation.

Hours:
Day Shift, hours can vary, including a 4-day work week
Typical hours are 7:30am 5:00pm
Up to 15 hours/week paid overtime
Pay:
$62,000.00 $83,000.00/year based on experience
Pay is on an hourly basis for direct labor on designated projects
Key Responsibilities:
Complete designs following instructions from Engineering Project Management or from concept layouts
Review customer standards, scope of work, and specifications to ensure compliance
Manage the design process through project completion
Review designs for design for manufacturability (DFM)
Generate comprehensive 2D and 3D designs according to department standards
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience in 3D or 2D designing of plastic injection molds, dies, or tooling
Basic machining skills and understanding of manufacturing processes
Experience with NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, or other 3D modeling software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
Attention to detail in documenting critical design aspects
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience working with complex tooling projects
Knowledge of plastic injection mold manufacturing processes
Additional certifications related to tooling or CAD software
Preferred Education and Experience:
Technical degree or certification related to CAD design or machining (preferred but not required)
