    What You''ll Do

The Tool Crib Coordinator is a vital part of our manufacturing team, responsible for ensuring that all CNC machining operations run smoothly. This is a dual-role position that focuses on both the management of all tooling and the maintenance and repair of shop equipment. This requires a high level of technical expertise, organization, and a proactive approach to both tool and equipment management. The position will ensure all tools are ordered, received, and issued efficiently. The coordinator will be the key point of contact for verifying orders with suppliers and vendors, and must be detail-oriented and organized to maintain an efficient tool area.

    • Receiving, Storing, and Dispensing: You will receive, unpack, and store all incoming tools, materials, and equipment. You will also prepare and organize complete tool kits (Set-up Boxes) for specific jobs based on upcoming production schedules, dispense tools to machinists, and track their usage.
    • Inventory Control: You will monitor and review tool usage to maintain accurate perpetual inventory records and prevent shortages. This includes ordering new cutting tools, drills, inserts, and other essential supplies from vendors.
    • Tool Maintenance and Inspection: You will inspect and measure tools for defects and wear, visually or using a micrometer, and report any damage. You will also manage the re-sharpening/regrinding program to keep all tooling in optimal condition.
    • Organization: You will maintain a clean, highly organized tool room and locate any lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
    • Daily Support: You will conduct daily rounds to collect used tooling and carbide, ensuring a continuous flow of materials and maintaining a tidy shop environment.

    • Preventative Maintenance: Maintain a comprehensive maintenance and coolant cleaning schedule and log for all shop equipment, including CNC machines, air compressors, forklifts, and other essential machinery.
    • Fluid Management: Monitor, maintain, and manage the inventory of all coolants, oils, and other essential fluids for shop equipment, ensuring they are always on hand when needed.
    • Troubleshooting & Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for equipment issues. You will diagnose problems, and when needed, coordinate with and schedule external machine technicians to perform complex repairs.
