Position Summary:
As a Tool Maker, you'll perform complex bench, machine, and finishing operations to maintain and enhance precision fixtures. You'll play a key role in improving operations performance, leading training for junior staff, and working with a high-performing technical team in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, layout, and execute fixture and tooling maintenance work with minimal supervision.
- Modify and maintain complex fixtures to optimize performance.
- Operate and set up all Tool Room equipment and machinery.
- Perform advanced machine set-ups that may require tool modifications.
- Monitor and inspect tool performance and quality.
- Instruct and mentor other Toolmakers, Machinists, and Technicians.
- Operate overhead cranes as required.
- Assist in machine troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
- Maintain all documentation associated in tooling and machine setups.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Wire EDM and Esprit programming experience is a plus.
- Completion of a state sponsored Tool & Die or Mold Maker apprenticeship program or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of related experience in tooling manufacturing
- Skilled in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
- Soldering, brazing, and welding a plus.
- CNC programming and CAD experience (Solid Works) is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality.
- Solid computer skills a plus.
