The Learning Experience of Middletown is looking for a nurturing, energetic, and enthusiastic Lead Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood education team!

Our Toddler classroom serves children approximately 18-24 months old, an exciting developmental stage filled with tremendous growth in language, independence, movement, social-emotional development, and curiosity.

We are an early learning facility focused on providing meaningful educational experiences from the very beginning of a child's educational journey. Our toddler teachers do much more than provide care throughout the day-they create intentional learning opportunities that build the developmental foundation children will carry with them into preschool, kindergarten, and beyond.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet at least one of the following educational requirements:

• Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential
• Currently enrolled in an Early Childhood Education program
• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education

Previous experience working with toddlers in a childcare center, early learning center, or similar group setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

As a Lead Toddler Teacher, you will:

• Create and maintain a warm, nurturing, organized, and engaging early learning environment specifically designed for young toddlers
• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and daily learning experiences
• Plan and lead circle time, music and movement, art, sensory exploration, early literacy activities, dramatic play, and hands-on learning experiences
• Encourage emerging language and communication skills through conversation, songs, stories, repetition, modeling, and intentional interactions
• Support children as they develop independence with age-appropriate skills and daily routines
• Provide opportunities that strengthen fine and gross motor development, problem-solving, curiosity, and cognitive growth
• Support toddlers as they begin developing important social-emotional skills, including expressing their needs, interacting with peers, taking turns, and beginning to understand emotions
• Recognize that toddlers develop at different rates and adapt activities and teaching approaches to meet individual developmental needs
• Establish predictable routines and transitions that help young children feel safe, confident, and successful
• Use positive, developmentally appropriate guidance techniques to support toddler behaviors
• Observe and document children's development, accomplishments, emerging skills, and areas for continued growth
• Maintain active supervision and ensure the health and safety of all children throughout the school day
• Assist children with meals, diapering, toileting readiness, handwashing, rest time, and other caregiving routines while recognizing these moments as opportunities for learning and connection
• Build strong, trusting relationships with children and their families
• Communicate professionally with families about their child's day, development, accomplishments, and classroom experiences
• Work collaboratively with assistant teachers, fellow educators, and school leadership
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and inviting classroom
• Follow all center policies, licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and company procedures
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school events, and ongoing training

Compensation: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
