Description

Essex North Shore is seeking a Title I Reading Specialist. The Title I Reading Specialist will work directly with students in small groups or one-on-one, assess reading progress, and design targeted intervention programs to boost literacy skills.

CORI, SAFIS, and SORI required.

Bilingual preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
  • Three to five years experience as a classroom educator.
  • DESE licensure in an academic content area.
  • DESE licensure as a Reading Specialist.
  • Knowledgeable regarding the essential components of literacy and

various literacy assessments, including O-G and/or Wilson.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse educators, families, and community members.
  • Ability to manage multiple students and priorities while maintaining detailed records.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent-Director or designee may find appropriate and in conformity with state and federal law.
