Primary Purpose:
Assist teacher in preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Work under supervision of a certified teacher.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED (required)
48 college credit hours, associate's degree, or passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment of Academic Skills (required)
Valid Texas educational aide certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to work well with children
Ability to communicate effectively
Experience:
Some experience working with children

The employee is expected to maintain emotional control under stress. Moderate standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing, moving small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment are required while performing the duties of this job.

Copier, personal computer, and audiovisual equipment.
Note: This is a federally funded position through Title I. Continued employment is contingent upon availability of funds.
