Under supervision performs administrative work of moderate difficulty; performs related work as assigned.
Typical Duties

Under general supervision, performs work of average difficulty in facilitating the transfer of ownership via recorded deeds and other legal documents to maintain the Assessors ownership records. In addition, apprentices with and assists the Cartographer in the maintenance and updating of Assessor cadastral records from legal descriptions, survey notes, and other written materials, using computer and GIS systems; performs related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Four years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience; OR, Associate's degree and three years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience; OR, Bachelors degree and two years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
The ideal candidate will have one year of experience in title examination, title processing or one year of course work in cartography, surveying or related subjects: one year of coursework in GIS; or any combination of education, training, experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
Preferred Qualifications include specialized knowledge and experience with chain of title examination and/or Real Estate. Knowledge and experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or other mapping or survey. Previous Assessors experience, (in-state or out-of-state). Knowledge of Arizona real estate and property law, including Arizona Title 33 statutes, with experience interpreting deeds, conveyances, easements, condominium documents, planned communities, and other real property instruments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical property and mapping concepts to coworkers, government agencies, and the public.
This position is non-exempt from overtime.
