Tire TechnicianPay: $18.00 per hourPosition SummaryWe are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Tire Technician to inspect, repair, replace, and maintain tires on cars, trucks, trailers, buses, farm equipment, and other heavy-duty vehicles. The Tire Technician will help ensure vehicles and equipment are safe and ready for operation.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Raise vehicles safely using hydraulic jacks or vehicle lifts.
- Remove and reinstall wheels using hand and power tools.
- Mount and dismount tires using tire-changing equipment.
- Balance wheels and install wheel weights to ensure smooth operation.
- Rotate tires to promote even tread wear.
- Repair eligible tire punctures and small leaks using approved patches or plugs.
- Inspect tires for tread depth, air pressure, sidewall damage, uneven wear, and other safety concerns.
- Inflate tires to the correct pressure based on vehicle and manufacturer specifications.
- Service tires on cars, trucks, trailers, buses, farm equipment, heavy equipment, and other miscellaneous vehicles.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment.
- Report damaged equipment and unsafe tire or vehicle conditions to the supervisor.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous tire-service, automotive, or mechanical experience is preferred.
- Ability to safely use tire-changing machines, wheel balancers, hydraulic jacks, lifts, and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of tire sizes, air-pressure requirements, and tire-safety standards.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license may be required based on job duties.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull tires and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds; heavier items may require team lifting or mechanical assistance.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work around vehicles, machinery, noise, dust, grease, and automotive materials.
