    Nelson Engineering is growing and looking for a TIG Welding Cell Lead who can drive quality, throughput, and mentorship in an aerospace environment. You’ll own scheduling, elevate standards, and still jump on the torch when the job demands it.

    Your Impact
    • Set the daily/weekly plan: prioritize, schedule, and sequence jobs for maximum flow
    • Perform and oversee TIG welding on sheet, tubing, machined parts, and castings across varied alloys and thicknesses
    • Train and mentor team members; foster a supportive, high-performance culture
    • Maintain consistent department quality, safety, organization, and performance
    • Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and remove bottlenecks
    • Support internal and external audits with confidence
    Must-Haves
    • 5+ years of aerospace TIG welding experience
    • 2+ years of leadership experience
    • Deep knowledge of AWS D17.1 Fusion Welding and NADCAP
    • Comfort with turntables/positioners and purge welding
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Clear, effective communicator with a strong work ethic; thrives both independently and on a team
    Nice-to-Have
    • Knowledge of AWS D17.2 Resistance Welding (spot & seam)
