Looking for a nursing role where you can use your full range of clinical skills?

WSi Healthcare is hiring experienced Registered Nurses for county jail clinics in the Phoenix, Arizona area. This is an opportunity to step outside the traditional hospital setting, work with a diverse patient population, and build experience in a fast-paced environment where strong nursing judgment matters. Correctional nurses provide hands-on care in secure clinical settings. Depending on the assignment, you may work in intake, outpatient care, mental health, infirmary services, medication administration, chronic-care support, or emergency response.

Every clinic and every shift can bring something different!!!

Pay is based on relevant nursing experience and the hours worked:

**Weekday Rates:

  • 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.: $40.00–$45.00 per hour
  • 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.: $43.00–$47.00 per hour
  • 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.: $44.00–$48.00 per hour

**Weekend Rates: Saturday and Sunday

  • 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.: $41.00–$46.00 per hour
  • 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.: $44.00–$48.00 per hour
  • 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.: $45.00–$49.00 per hour

The 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. rate is the nurse’s primary pay rate. Evening, night, and weekend rates apply to qualifying hours worked within those time periods. Employees must work at least two hours within the applicable period to qualify for that rate. Because 12-hour shifts cross different pay periods, more than one hourly rate may apply during the same shift.

Schedules are based on current facility needs and may include:

  • RN day shift: Generally 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
  • RN night shift: Generally 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
  • Full-time contract assignments
  • Part-time opportunities
  • PRN or registry shifts

Some full-time assignments require a commitment of three 12-hour shifts per week for at least 13 weeks. Nurses may be required to float among county jail clinics based on staffing and patient-care needs.

What you will do:

  • Complete nursing assessments and implement appropriate interventions
  • Perform intake screenings, triage, and ongoing patient evaluations
  • Care for patients with acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and ordered treatments
  • Respond to urgent and emergent medical situations
  • Monitor patient progress and evaluate clinical outcomes
  • Complete timely documentation in the electronic health record
  • Collaborate with providers, custody staff, and other healthcare professionals
  • Provide patient education and support discharge planning when appropriate
  • Follow all clinical, security, confidentiality, and professional-boundary requirements

What to Expect During the Hiring Process:

Positions within county jail facilities require additional screening and approval before a nurse can begin working. The process includes WSi onboarding, credential review, a recorded interview when requested, fingerprinting, background and security review, client approval, and required orientation. The full process can take several weeks. Timing depends on how quickly documents are completed, fingerprint results are returned, and orientation dates become available. Your WSi recruiter will help you understand each step and keep you updated throughout the process!!!
