Job Summary:

Super Micro Computer, Inc. is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer in server production team. The potential candidate should have demonstrated the ability to work in a team environment. Previous experience with server mechanical verification and validation is desired. A good understanding of Server HW product design is beneficial.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

  • Design and develop algorithm, system, and hardware product solutions that meet customer expectations. This requires unique balance of functional elegance, simplicity, cost, and performance
  • Design and develop products, system solutions, and processes using broad engineering concepts or through directing and providing technical consultation to third parties. Perform system reliability testing per design specifications and facilitates transition of product designs to full production
  • Perform system reliability testing per design specifications and facilitates transition of product designs to full production
  • Propose development plans and gain alignment with partners on specific activities including objectives, integration schedule, and key dependencies
  • Support system integration efforts that include mechanical, writing system, electrical, servo system, and FW interactions
  • Develop test plans, test scripts, and manage testing to validate performance and reliability. Use design of experiments (DOE) methods. Analyze data from experiments to draw conclusions regarding design effectiveness. Publish results in written reports
  • Perform root cause analysis of defects; propose, evaluate and implement solutions
  • Define and analyze product performance specifications. Perform loss function testing for product performance parameters. Analyze and test worst-case usage conditions. Identify and analyze critical tolerance loops

Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Mechanical engineering or other relevant discipline preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in Server Mechanical System Design field preferred
  • Technical knowledge requirements include general static and dynamic systems analysis, materials science, and manufacturing processes. Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex static and dynamic problems using free body diagram analysis
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD, Excel, JMP, Lab-view data analysis software

Salary Range

$133,000 - $150,000

The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
