    Position: Chemical Dependency Professional / Therapist
    Location: Anchorage, AK
    Job Type: Full-time

    Position Summary:
    Symbiotic Services is seeking a qualified Chemical Dependency Professional/Therapist to manage a caseload of clients and deliver therapeutic treatment using evidence-based, person-centered practices. This position plays a vital role in inspiring and supporting individuals in recovery.


    Schedule:

    • Full-time (40 hours per week)

    • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop diagnostic impressions using DSM criteria

    • Create individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and families

    • Present case conceptualizations to the clinical team

    • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions

    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation including assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans

    • Deliver psychoeducational and support groups

    • Coordinate services with external providers and community resources

    • Provide crisis intervention and participate in 24-hour emergency services as needed

    • Stay updated with current treatment trends and participate in professional development

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Strong knowledge of behavioral health and substance use treatment

    • Familiarity with state and federal treatment regulations

    • Experience with co-occurring disorders

    • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills

    • Ability to work independently and within a team

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records

    Physical/Environmental Requirements:

    • Primarily office-based with extended periods of sitting

    • Occasional lifting (up to 10 lbs)

    • Potential exposure to infectious diseases

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field

    • Active state licensure (PDAC, CDAC, LCDP, LMHC-A, LCSW)

    • Minimum one year of clinical experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment

    • Knowledge of 12-Step Recovery programs preferred

    • Pursuit of chemical dependency certification/licensure preferred
