Job Description:

General Description:

This position provides first-line on-site technical support for the Loudoun campus theater and event center for the outside events as needed.

Duties and Tasks:

  • Prepare the theater and surrounding spaces (e.g. dressing rooms) for the client.
  • Operate audio and visual equipment for the event including technical rehearsals, performances and presentations.
  • Post show cleanup.
  • Maintain the equipment during and after the event.
  • Ensure proper use of theater equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:

KSAs:

  • Knowledge of theater terminology, design principles and practices, theater equipment/supplies.
  • Knowledge of Electronic and audio principles used in theater productions.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements for personnel and equipment.
  • Ability to trouble shoot and perform routine maintenance of theater production equipment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills required.

Minimum Work Experience:

  • Experience in stage or event production, to include stage rigging, lighting console programming, sound mixing, Audio/Video and computer technology.
  • Experience in operating the audio and visual equipment.
  • Experience working in an event center environment
  • Experience in theater equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience in the event industry, live theater, production or a related field.
  • Experience with professional audio systems, including digital and analog mixing consoles, wireless microphones, signal flow and routing.
  • Experience with theatrical lighting systems, including digital lighting consoles, ability to hang and focus stage lights, circuiting and cabling lighting instruments.
