    Description

    Leidos is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to support the Leidos Production Facility in Vista CA. As the Test Engineer, ensure product quality and reliability by developing, implementing, and maintaining testing processes, hardware, and software in manufacturing. Key roles include creating automated test programs (ATE), Designing test fixtures, troubleshooting production failures, reducing test times, improving yield and ensuring products meet specifications. 

    Primary Responsibilities (not a complete list): 

    • Test Strategy & Program Development: Design, develop, and implement test strategies, test programs, and scripts for Automated Test Equipment (ATE). 

    • Hardware Design & Maintenance: Design, build, and maintain test fixtures, test hardware, and debug Printed Circuit Assemblies (PCAs) to component levels. 

    • Production Support & Troubleshooting: Provide daily support to manufacturing, troubleshoot assembly/component failures, and determine if issues are product-related or test-related and create troubleshooting guides for production.  

    • Yield Improvement & Data Analysis: Analyze data from automated testing to identify trends, enhance productivity, and improve manufacturing yield. 

    • New Product Introduction (NPI): Work with R&D engineering teams to introduce new products into manufacturing, ensuring testability (Design for Test). 

    • Documentation & Standardization: Document test procedures, specifications, and process changes to maintain quality standards. 

    Basic Qualifications: 

    • Technical Skills: Proficient with electronic test instruments (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters), test programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, LabVIEW), and ATE systems. 

    • Background: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. May consider additional experience in lieu of a degree. 

    • Work Environment: work directly in manufacturing environment, often spending time in labs for debugging.  

    • Minimum of 4 years of experience, with at least 1 year of experience in testing & integration 

    • Experience with test plan development and technical writing 

    • Working knowledge of embedded systems 

    • Strong communication skills to engage with multidiscipline teams 

    • Excellent debugging skills

    • Working knowledge of embedded systems

    Pay Range:

    Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00
