Option 1: Edge Testing Engineer
Role Overview
We are looking for an Edge Testing Engineer to validate the performance, reliability, and communication interfaces of our edge-computing devices. You will be responsible for ensuring our distributed edge systems communicate seamlessly across various networks, protocols, and real-world deployment scenarios.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute automated test scripts using Python and pytest tailored for edge device validation.
- Validate core connectivity features, including Ethernet, Bluetooth, and CAN protocols.
- Design, build, and maintain physical test fixtures and test benches to simulate edge environments and test fixture hardware.
- Troubleshoot end-to-end communication failures, analyze packet data, and debug hardware-software interactions using logic analyzers.
- Write comprehensive test cases, execute test plans, and track issues to maintain high product quality.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in Python scripting and pytest frameworks.
- Hands-on experience testing edge devices, IoT hardware, or distributed systems.
- Solid working knowledge of communication protocols (Ethernet, Bluetooth, CAN).
- Experience using lab debug tools such as logic analyzers and protocol debuggers.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and test case design skills.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience measuring and expanding test coverage metrics for edge software.
- Background in automated test fixture integration.
Option 2: Embedded Testing Engineer
Role Overview
We are seeking an Embedded Testing Engineer to focus on low-level firmware validation, hardware-software integration, and system-level debugging. In this role, you will work closely with firmware engineers to ensure our microcontrollers and embedded platforms operate with maximum stability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement embedded test frameworks and automation scripts using Python and pytest.
- Perform thorough low-level functional, regression, and stress testing on custom embedded hardware.
- Collaborate with hardware teams to design and build custom test fixtures for board-level validation.
- Analyze firmware behavior, trace memory/timing issues, and debug board signals using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and multimeters.
- Create detailed test cases and document requirements to ensure robust firmware releases.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in embedded software or firmware testing environments.
- Proficiency in Python and pytest for test automation.
- Experience with hardware debugging tools, particularly logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
- Ability to read schematics, understand microcontroller datasheets, and troubleshoot hardware/firmware boundaries.
- Analytical mindset with a strong track record of writing and executing rigorous test cases.
