Position Summary

Diversified Technology, Inc. (DTI) is seeking motivated early-career professionals who are interested in launching long-term careers in software testing and technology consulting within the public-utility industry.

Selected candidates will join DTI as full-time employees and participate in an intensive 30-day training and project-readiness program delivered by DTI and a strategic partner. The program will provide foundational training in utility operations, Oracle Utilities Customer Information System concepts, software testing, quality assurance, consulting, professional communication, applied artificial intelligence, and client readiness.

Candidates who successfully complete the training program and demonstrate the required technical proficiency, testing knowledge, professionalism, and consulting readiness will transition into entry-level Software Test Analyst assignments supporting a major public-utility transformation initiative in San Antonio.

This opportunity is designed for candidates with strong analytical ability, technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to building a career in technology consulting. Previous Oracle Utilities or professional software-testing experience is not required.

Training and Development

Participants will receive training in the following areas:

• Electric, gas, and water utility operations
• Utility customer lifecycle and Meter-to-Cash processes
• Oracle Utilities CIS concepts, terminology, navigation, and business processes
• Software-testing and quality-assurance fundamentals
• Functional, system, integration, regression, and user-acceptance testing
• Test planning, test-case development, test execution, and results documentation
• Requirements traceability and test-coverage validation
• Defect identification, documentation, prioritization, retesting, and closure
• Customer, account, billing, payment, meter, usage, and service-data validation
• Consulting fundamentals, professional communication, and stakeholder collaboration
• Responsible use of AI for research, analysis, documentation, testing, and productivity
• Test-automation concepts as an additional testing method

Key Responsibilities

During training and subsequent client assignments, participants may:

• Attend instructor-led training, workshops, labs, assessments, and project simulations.
• Develop working knowledge of public-utility operations and Oracle Utilities CIS.
• Review business requirements, functional designs, and process documentation.
• Translate requirements and business processes into test scenarios and test cases.
• Prepare test data for different business, system, and exception conditions.
• Execute functional, system, integration, regression, and user-acceptance testing.
• Perform manual testing and receive foundational exposure to automated testing.
• Document test results and maintain complete testing evidence.
• Identify, document, prioritize, track, retest, and validate software defects.
• Validate customer, account, billing, payment, meter, usage, and service-related data.
• Analyze testing failures and assist with root-cause investigation.
• Maintain testing documentation, requirements traceability, status reports, and action items.
• Collaborate with business, functional, technical, testing, and project-management teams.
• Participate professionally in client meetings, demonstrations, and working sessions.
• Support implementation readiness, deployment, go-live, and post-production testing.
• Continue developing technical, functional, consulting, and testing skills based on project needs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, management information systems, data analytics, or another technology-related field.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrated interest in software testing, quality assurance, enterprise technology, or technology consulting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, high-quality work.
• Ability to understand complex business processes and learn enterprise technologies.
• Ability to manage assignments, meet deadlines, and respond constructively to feedback.
• Ability to work effectively with business, functional, technical, testing, and client teams.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Professional, dependable, adaptable, and client-service-oriented approach.
• Ability to work in San Antonio and meet the client's onsite or hybrid expectations.
• Authorization to work in the United States without future sponsorship requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

Exposure to one or more of the following is helpful but not required:

• Software testing, quality assurance, or test automation
• SQL, databases, reporting, data analysis, or data validation
• Oracle applications, ERP, CRM, CIS, billing, or customer-service systems
• API, web, application, or integration testing
• Programming or scripting through coursework, internships, projects, or employment
• Automated testing tools or frameworks
• Agile, Scrum, Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, or similar delivery tools
• Utility operations, energy, water, telecommunications, or regulated industries
• AI-enabled testing, development, productivity, or analytical tools
• Academic projects, internships, military service, or customer-facing experience demonstrating leadership and problem-solving

Program Expectations

This is a selective, performance-based employment and professional-development program. Participants must successfully complete all required training, labs, exercises, assignments, assessments, and project-readiness activities.

Throughout the program, participants will be evaluated on:

• Technical aptitude and testing proficiency
• Understanding of utility operations and Oracle Utilities CIS fundamentals
• Quality and accuracy of test scenarios, test cases, test data, and results
• Defect-management and requirements-traceability practices
• Professional communication and collaboration
• Attendance, accountability, adaptability, and initiative
• Overall technical, consulting, and client readiness

Successful completion of the training program does not depend on becoming an automation engineer. Participants are expected to develop broad software-testing capabilities, with test automation introduced as a supplemental testing approach that may be expanded based on project requirements.
