The objective of the Office of Accessibility Care Team Support is to ensure equal access to the university's educational programs, services, and activities by providing reasonable accommodations, support services, and resources that promote an inclusive and accessible learning environment.

Purpose of the Position

The Testing Center Assistant (TCA) will support the overall operations and core testing functions of the CNU Student Testing Center with a focus on "Students First" philosophy. This position will require effective communication skills, especially when proctoring exams, collecting testing materials, and problem-solving typical issues that can arise. The TCA will ensure privacy of testing services while upholding the integrity of the testing center and ensuring students can take exams in a distraction-free environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position

  • Excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of computer operations, with experience using word processing software and spreadsheet applications
  • Ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and maintain privacy
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Commitment to support unique student needs and deliver appropriate accommodations for student success
  • Ability to work independently, as well as to collaborate with others
  • Ability to work with schedule that may be adjusted during peak academic testing periods to meet operational needs

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma

Experience:

  • Experience with customer service

Additional Consideration(s)

Experience:

  • Experience in an educational setting, preferably higher education
  • Experience in a formal testing environment
  • Experience working with students who have disabilities
  • Knowledge of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the ADA of 2008, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and other appropriate laws

Role Code 29141 Salary Information Salary $16.26 to $20.32 an hour, Commensurate with Education and Experience CNU Information Conditions of Employment

  • This is an HOURLY position and does NOT entitle the incumbent to Commonwealth of Virginia benefits and is limited to 1500 hours in a 365-day period.
  • Selected candidate will be required to attend a 2-Day New Employee Orientation Program.
