Testing Analyst

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Information Technology or 3-5 years of relevant technical experience, along with knowledge of testing processes and experience analyzing network packets and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, and SIP. Overview:

VTG is seeking a Testing Analyst to support our team in Fredericksburg, VA. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Information Technology or 3-5 years of relevant technical experience, along with knowledge of testing processes and experience analyzing network packets and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, and SIP. Strong communication and analytical skills, working knowledge of ASN.1 encoding, and proficiency in SQL are also required.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze network packets and protocols, including TCP/IP, UDP, and SIP, to support system and product testing efforts.
• Apply structured testing processes to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Review and interpret data encoded in the ASN.1 format as part of testing and analysis activities.
• Query and update data using Structured Query Language (SQL) to support testing and reporting needs.
• Analyze files and data sets to identify issues, trends, and areas for improvement.
• Document test procedures, findings, and results clearly for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Communicate testing status, issues, and recommendations to team members and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
• Learn and adapt to new products, tools, and techniques as project needs evolve.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues identified during testing.

Qualifications:

• Must be a US Citizen with a Top Secret clearance.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or 3-5 years of equivalent technical experience.

• Knowledge of testing processes and methodologies.

• Experience analyzing network packets and protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, and SIP.

• Strong working knowledge of the ASN.1 encoding format.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze files.

• Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) to query and update data in a database.

• Ability to learn new products and techniques quickly.
