    Description

    Overview:

    Element has an opportunity for a EMC Test Technician to join our rapidly expanding team in Plano, TX. As a member of the operations team, the EMC Test Technician position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under direct supervision. 

     

    The technician positions must be proficient in a number of core business skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures. You should possess a basic understanding of the following standards: MIL-STD-461, RTCA DO160, EN 55032, EN 55035, FCC/ISED, IEC 60601-1-2

     

    Element Plano is an accredited laboratory providing comprehensive EMI/EMC, wireless, product safety, NEBS, dynamics, and environmental testing services. Element Plano supports aerospace, defense, telecommunications, commercial electronics, medical, automotive, and wireless device manufacturers with full qualification, pre-compliance, and advisory services.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct a variety of EMC and RF tests which includes setting up test equipment and customer equipment, performing testing to applicable standards or test plans, and accurately documenting the testing process and outcome
    • Understand customer test plans and how to properly follow laboratory technical procedures and test specifications
    • Setup test equipment and follow written specifications necessary for the proper performance of the test
    • Maintain appropriate knowledge of test standards, product test procedures, and instrumentation
    • Accurately observe and record test progress and results. Organize and document data for each assigned project
    Skills / Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 1-2 years working in product testing with specific experience in EMC Testing.
    • Proven ability to use EMC test equipment such as EMI receivers, Anechoic Chambers, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.
    • Basic knowledge in the radio test standards for North America, Europe, Japan, and South Korea.
    • Customer service experience
    • Willingness to work OT when needed
