Test Technician

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Test Technician in Oxnard, California for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform functional, electrical, and mechanical testing on aerospace components and systems while supporting engineering, manufacturing, inspection, and test operations.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of additional education and/or related experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a technician in a manufacturing, engineering, or test environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
• Experience using test and measurement tools such as multimeters, calipers, and torque wrenches.
• Experience executing component- and system-level test procedures.
• Ability to identify and analyze equipment failures, defects, and non-conformances.
• Experience recording, organizing, and reporting technical test data.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications and process documentation.
• Experience working in cleanroom and environmental test environments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document test results.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to safely manipulate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Ability to support multiple shifts.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity working around delicate spacecraft hardware.
• Technical or engineering-related certification.
• Some college coursework.
• Experience supporting aerospace or spacecraft manufacturing and test operations.

What You’ll Do

• Perform functional, electrical, and mechanical testing on components and systems according to written procedures.
• Execute component- and system-level test plans, procedures, and test events.
• Document test results, identify errors, and report non-conformances to engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and analyze equipment failures and test-related defects.
• Participate in test planning and test-readiness reviews.
• Analyze measurement requirements and equipment tolerances.
• Conduct tests and record data supporting engineering evaluation and analysis.
• Maintain and improve test procedures, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Compile, format, and maintain technical data, test results, and engineering-change information.
• Maintain engineering documentation, procedures, and test reports.
• Support manufacturing, inspection, and test engineering personnel with technical issues.
• Analyze test data and prepare reports in customer-required formats.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Full-time onsite in Oxnard, California.
• 9/80A schedule.
• Must be able to support multiple shifts.
• Typical shift hours may include:
  • 1st Shift: approximately 6:00 AM–3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift: approximately 2:30 PM–12:00 AM
• Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Pay

• $36.37 per hour.
